I can second that. That stuff is TOUGH!

Still chipping away, some filler on the long side for small dents and new rocker.

Getting closer to spraying the build primer Dancing

What kinda painting experience did you have before tackling this?

Im very limited and need to buy a book on the subject or something.
Bare metal to first coat of epoxy, then and filler work?
After that high build primer?
Those steps right?

BTW im terrible at painting lol

My experience is from painting other cars with my friend. I do the welding and he does the spraying ( although I've sprayed a few things ).

In the case of this bus, areas that had pitted rust were sandblasted, then some sections rust treated. Other sections were just sanded down.

Filler was applied to bare metal (after it was cleaned 'wiped') and then epoxy primer was put on. After the epoxy was applied we applied a coat or two of 2k primer and sanded with 320 grit. The bus was wiped and then we sprayed two coats of 2k. We had to sand the epoxy prior to the 2k because it sat too long.

So, sandblast, wipe, rust mort, epoxy primer, sand, wipe, 2k, sand, wipe, 2k. After some more sanding and priming and spot putty we can probably top coat it.
A gallon of 2k was used and about 3/4 of a gallon of epoxy primer was used. I'm not sure how much filler was used maybe a gallon, mostly to smooth out my not perfect welding, but some was used in a few other areas with shallow dents.

Ppg dplf50 was used for epoxy primer. Cromax chroma Eurethane was the brand of 2k primer. We 'wiped' with some anti-static anti-grease 'prep'.

Top coat will most likely just be a fleet line paint from ppg.
There are many ways to do it besides ^^. See if you can work with someone and learn their "system" . The epoxy of sandblasted metal followed by build primer is a common 'system' (I think).
