During my research for Kohlruss & Schreiner pictures, I also came across some other interesting posts and pictures. Some may be Kohlruss or Schreiner buses, but as I am not 100% sure which ones they really are, I posted them in here – maybe you can help me…
My other related topics:
Coachbuilder: Hans Kohlruss
Coachbuilder: Karl Schreiner
Unknown coachbuilder – maybe from Germany?
I found a lot of photos of the following buses. These buses also have quite significant roof windows above the driver cabin – pretty similar to Kohlruss and Schreiner’s buses but i can not say who made them. Also note the wide safari windows on the roof! What really catches the eye is the deluxe trim at the front – it replaced the VW-Logo. Most of these buses also do have a special paint job at the position of the dogleg (above all four wheels).
I found several photos and can’t say who made these buses – and neither if they were made in Germany or in Austria. Of course it is possible that the buses were made by different coachbuilders. On the pictures they do have some plates from Germany, some from Austria.
Maybe anyone of you does know more?
But at first, just take a look at the images:
Is this one a survivor? But as you can see it has normal samba-windows. Has anyone got pics of the front side of this bus?

Note the corner window of this bus:
What about the bus in the first pic here?

Blue Baron just shared this pic in the "Vintage pictures"-thread.
Now I also place it here and will add some information about it.
After discovering this pic on facebook some days ago, i was quite curious about the location. And after some time i finally found the significant church in the background.
It turned out to be in Telfs, a village in Tirol, Austria. And this picture shows how it looks today:
Additionally here is some information from oldspeed79 about the licence plate: "the license plate "AB..." stands for Bavaria/Germany after war, 1948 –1956 (US-occupation)"
I remembered this bus from another pic and now i finally found it: It even has the same licence plate!
But this location seems to be in Bavaria, Germany:
Now it just would be interesting who made this bus!

Here is another picture - it appears as if this bus was a vehicle that has been used for a bus travel company. Sadly the pic has not got the best resolution so i can't read the lettering on the doors.
It looks similar to many other buses with german licence plates in this thread. _________________ Blog website:www.austrosplit.com

Hello,
thanks for the thread with the cool photos
What's about the Police Barndoor with 13 windows? I cannot find the photo, it's a 54, 55 white barndoor with the sign "Politie", somewhere in the vintage photo thread. It also has corner windows, don't know who built it...

Sure! Dutch police sign and Dutch number plates, the bus is from 54 as the description tells. Until 51 you could see the car's location, but they changed so I have no idea where they were used
Did you notice the link? There were at least two of these buses, one with the plate "RK 21 07" and one with "RK 21 05". There are minor differences such as the mirrors, perhaps the color?!
Did somebody offer shortened mirror arms for the spot light? I just know about German made by Hagus but always thought they came with tiny integrated mirrors?

I realise this is far fetched but hey! stranger things have happened---is it possible to source where all those different kind of windows may have come from and see who would have bought them? |

yes, you're right - i also suggested that the bus was in service for Knirps - a company famous for its umbrellas. _________________ Blog website:www.austrosplit.com
