But it was an accessory wheel that was available to buy for any other car owner as well. |
Did any other cars have a spline pattern like the early Porsche/VW steering column spline pattern as well? |
Any other (not Rometsch) VW owner.
A friend of mine got an first hand oval that had it since the 50s.
You could buy it for your VW. It was not Rometsch exclusively. _________________ Master of my domain! |

Good info!
So that steering wheel is likely an original accessory to the car, very cool! _________________ drive it like you just robbed the bank

Not likely. The car is older than the steering wheel itself. That steering wheel never existed when the car was brand new. _________________ My Beetles :

I hope i will get that bug in decent shape. I have to make some expense plan because I am in middle of restoration my bay window and fitting Subaru in it! Bug have to wait now. First thing I need to buy for zwitter are all the missing body parts and show can start. I will check some webshops you people gave me, decide what to buy and keep it untill the project starts. But, combi comes first. _________________ Proud to be Croat! |

Looks like you have a number of parts that you can sell to help fund your project. |

You can sell parts that aren't correct for your car, like the trip speedometer. Also, depending on which way you are going to go with the car, you can sell other parts like the vent locks, hood, cruiser pedal. It may not add up to much when compared to how much you will likely have to spend on fixing the car, but I think every little bit helps. |

Thanks for advice. Of course I was planing to do that because I dont need those things for that car. There are lots of parts which is missing and they are all turbo expensive. To get the car looks like it should is no big deal ( it is, but nothing more then my van ) , but there are some parts of that car which is so expensive or there are none od them. What about later seats? Do they fit? What about whipers? Side mirrors? Benders? Wheels? Brakes? Those things are giving me a headache. Bodyparts and are no problem, but these things...they are! _________________ Proud to be Croat! |

That car is cool as hell. I'd keep a lot of those parts and build it back into a 1950's period road/rally car. Who cares if it is 100% original? Have some fun with it, there's only one car out there just like that and you've got it. _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |
