These were posted in the vintage photos thread, but I thought they were interesting enough for their own thread.
Here's a new batch of Wolfsburg factory photos, circa 1956.
Western façade.
Eastern portion with power plant.
Press room
Front axles
Chassis assembly
Body assembly in background, finished cars in foreground. Note North American export cars at front and back of row, with
"ram" protection bumpers, bullet turn signals, and empty sealed beam headlight buckets. Even whitewalls!
Dispatch area. Note completed Karmann Ghia chassis ready for shipment to Osnabruck.
