Can you offer a brand, model, where you got them, cost?
Have been considering adding daytime running lights (DRL) and those look like a great choice. _________________ Rosemarie and Paul Hill

I'm liking those.
I think DRLs might be a good idea. Most newer cars seem to have some sort of daytime running light. Which brings up something I thought of recently. A 3rd brake light. Anybody running one on their Buggy?
Does your driving light circuit have a relay?
Your garage looks like mine. Um, busy...
Your weld cart has a flat.

I guess this was a sign, I was just thinking of adding driving lights since I only have a single filament bulb for head lights. I was just looking them up.
Those are great looking, Great job _________________ 73' Bug

I didn't use a relay. The wiring kit I used for my buggy was for a hot rod and had a heater blower motor circuit (High amp circuit) so I just tapped into it and used a heavy duty switch. The lights only draw 530mA so I'm not expecting any issues.
My buggy has a third brake light. It's a little low. I might insert one into the upper roll bar, seems it would be a better position up there.
LOL Yeah I had a new set of solid tires for my welder cart given to me. I went to put them on before I did the LED installation and found out the axle Dia. was different, cant win......
Thanks for the feedback guys. _________________ Brent

I'm using a set of these on my car as DRL's.

Mounted them to a piece of 1" wide flat aluminum stock that's sandwiched between my front license plate and its mount. Wired up with a relay so they run whenever the engine is running and the headlights are off. Easy-peasy. _________________ "Just $99 down and $64 a month for 36 months buys you a brand new Volkswagen Beetle!"

I wouldent waste $ or thyme on building a small motor. build it big so it dosent have to work hard.remember it's only as fast as your foot alows it to be unless you build a small turd then it just stinks as it squishes up through your toes when you step on it. |

Set them up with relay that cuts them off with dimmer switch...

sounds like what I need on my Passat. after having 3 cars with zenons, the cost cutting stock headlights on the current Passats SUUUCK. the low beams on my 135i are brighter than the high beams on the Passat. _________________ 71 LWB Manx style dunebuggy

Need a thumbs up or like button Dale, good idea.
LOL Cdnltded.
I think it was actual beetle fender gasket (for lack of better words). It likes to pop out every once in a while. My hood flange is swiss cheese and needs the flanges to be re glassed to fix the holes so I can securely fasten the gasket and hood in position. It's not going anywhere but would be nice to hold that gasket in properly.
I have full intentions to tear the car completely down and get frame and cage blasted and powder coated. Might get some body work done at the same time.
John, Yeah I'm super impressed with these , They are more of a flood light type set up. Not sure they could even be aimed properly to use as a head light but they are going to work fantastic as a in your face day time running light. _________________ Brent

I like to run them with the high beam, have them wired to the dimmer with a relay. I use a rigid industry light bar on my bike and piaa on the buggy. No problems with other drivers forgetting to turn off their high beams either. |
