Thanks for the positive feedback. Yeah a little bit is still progress.
Fresh from the booth. Thanks Alex for the use of the booth.
Yeah I'm pretty happy with the results, but now all the fun begins, assembly.

Pedro reminded me that my avatar did not match my car. John J. fixed it for me, so we will change it soon.
Here you go. Thanks John, see you in a couple of weeks. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

YES!!! That paint scheme looks BADASS! Congrats on reaching that milestone as it's a good feeling. Down the winding and twisting trail you go in getting it back together. Again congrats and look forward to your updated pics! _________________ MonT3

Thanks Mont3. Yes the color combination works really well. I have always liked that blue and the white was a good second color. More pictures will come as progress is made. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

The car looks fantastic. Keep adding pics as you go, as I love to see the progress. And yes the fun/nightmare begins now. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks for the comments. I am going to cut and polish, then start assembly. I have a large pile of goodies for the car and I have started pulling boxes out of storage. It is a bit like Christmas. The color combination really works, I have always liked the BMW Laguna Seca blue and the white is classic. I cannot wait to drive this car.
I will try to get it outside for some more pictures. Cheers _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Thanks again for the comments. Progress may be a bit slow. Started a new job and the commute is a bit long and may cut into VW time. Somebody has got to get the teleport running soon. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Well I guess an update is in order. We went to the Invasion and had a blast. It was great meeting the West Coast bunch.
So the motor has been in for a while and I thought some pictures might be in order.
I still need to get the generator or alternator figured out.
I have replaced any and all hose clamps to AN fittings and stainless steel hoses.
.
I cannot wait to hear what this exhaust sounds like _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Any updates. Love this square can't wait to see it on the road again. I hope I live long enough to see teleporting! |

Sorry for the lack of updates. Family issues to deal with, new job (longer travel time). Trying to get life back in rhythm. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

The car is looking good. Have you figured out how you're going to slam it to the ground so it looks like John's art work? _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks for the kind words. As for Bobnotch, yeah got that figured out. I have a narrowed beam, full air ride sitting in boxes in the garage. The big plan was to put it together & drive it, then drop it. The plan now is to put it together & drive it.
The new job is a longer commute, takes about 1 hour minimum, add a little rain, somebody with a flat tire or SNOW and it can go to 2 + hour drive. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

SWEEET! I have a Matchbox type toy very close to your real thing. (Color extends down the rear hatch too.)
Those are 17 inch Cayenne wheels, no?

That sounds like my (38 mile) commute.

That was my dream too. Discovered I was too cheap and lazy, but if you decide to sell off those parts.....

Yes, Cayenne 17" wheels. I actually have 2 beams, 1 narrowed for springs, 2nd narrowed for air ride. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Ummmmmm....Hello. yes updates have been few and far between. Apologies for the delay.
Body issues, had to remount the side panels, adhesion issues. Repaint sides inside and out. Paint issues on the repaint, crap match, repaint again. Motor had a no oil pressure issue, so pull out and rebuild. My better 1/2 decided A/C would be a plan. So motor was already on the floor. Fitting all the parts on the motor and now we add in a/c compressor, modify shroud, just a lot of work for something that is to be a fun project.
Picture time. In no particular order. Enjoy!

The little boots on the back up lights are from the door locks on the inside of the door on a VW Golf. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done"
