| I'm looking for a Frank Myers Motors license plate frame. Frank Myers was my great grandfather and my dad is currently restoring a VW van. He really wants one of these license plate covers from his grandfather's dealership. Help please! |

13 years later...I, too, am searching, as my mother bought her 1978 Super Beetle vert there, new, in 78. I just inherited it from her.
Silver Spring Auto City declared bankruptcy as seen in a Washington Post notice:
May 10, 1999
Silver Spring Auto City Inc. of 8200 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, filed for Chapter 11 reorganization Tuesday. The company listed assets as $1 million to $10 million and liabilities as $100,000 to $499,000.
I thought I had tracked down the business owners' son but there has been no reply.

Frame originally came on a new 1972 Super Beetle that I bought from Van Slyke in Knoxville. No longer have the car but I am using it on my 66 bug. Touched up the script with some Testers paint that matched fairly well with the original that was faded. |

If you are asking if there is some company that will make any badge you want done, I would say Yes.
I don't personally know who does this and I would guess there would be some minimum order.
There are a bunch of repro badges on the site, you could ask one of those guys where they had them made. A lot of them might be resellers though so it might take a few emails.
I know ISPWest in LA has had some Type 3 badges made, maybe they have a source.
Or start a new thread asking where to get a badge made.

After searching for a few years, then finding locally and taking several months to pin the seller down to actually pick up, I got my Charleston, SC dealer frame for my car. Seller mentioned that he had a 2nd, rusty one that I could also have for a few bucks more, which was a nice bonus (it's wall art since it's cracked though).
If the usable one doesn't clean up to well is there anyone out there who restores these?
