Good news: the rack is here
Bad news: they dropped it
Good news: I should be able to bend it back to shape and should be able to get the shipping company to send me a check

Based on the damage it looks like they might have dropped it on the ground from a forklift that would be my guess only speculation though |

loaded up ready to go
after bending back into shape it was time for a prefit
love how it came out the L82 Silver white is perfect. I need to paint the hurst bumper the same. We used the WHOLE quart of paint I had made. Cut it close but we covered it all.
now the test, will it fit in the garage? This is before hitting the 1.5 inch step up into the garage
it fits! The cosmos is in alignment! |

this is the setup to secure the deck, the rubber is a bike tube that is one of those heavy duty kinds that you aren't supposed to get punctures, hence the thickness at the bottom. Worked out perfect because I ordered 3/4" pipe clamps and the sent me 1" and I just happened to have the tube.
Those two holes are for the ladder
I got the back piece done, will do the front one next. 4 clamps per piece. |

in an attempt to keep the rack from getting to scratched up i dipped the strap hooks in flex seal about 8 times until it had a decent amount built up

A lot of these straps have plastic dipped hooks, and I find them to be much better at securing things. Just for when your bungees wear out. _________________ Brutis Patches Izabich: 1970 VW Transporter - 1776cc DP

Oh yeah! I've got real ratchet straps with coated ends that I keep in the bus, these are more secondary / light duty straps |
