I'm trying to figure out what is this hole for . It is on the rear right side under the trim panel on a 66 bug :

Absolutely nothing.... well after assembly and production.
Stamping/Tooling/Fixture hole.. nothing more..
There are holes all over the car with similar origin .
Cover it, plug it, or ... simply do nothing at all.
Just for the topic...
Pre 65 Convertibles used a hole in a similar location for the wiring harness.

Redoing the seats on my 64 and wondered about the hole as well. When I looked there was a fender nut almost directly behind it. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it? |
