I searched last night to see if anyone has had to deal with this. The part of the clam shell that has the three bolts has completely broken off and passenger side of the evap is currently resting on the pillar.

Has anyone been able to fix or mod this.

Thanks

on mine the front unit cracked and dropped over the sun visor (1986 van early ac)
I rigged up a piece of sheet metal bent to fit and screwed to the stock holes in the van and the sheet metal now holds the plastic unit up, been fixed that way for ten or so years.
it is a kind of doubler, over the cracked plastid and it does the holding now.

so get creative with a metal brace of some sort. For an near invisible fix you could mount the metal inside the plastic cover maybe and uses some large washers over the screws to secure it, lr bond a piece to the inside of the plastic.
simply gluing the cracked plastic may not last lnog, so some sort of reinforcement such as sheet metal would be hhelpfu. fix it efore it gets worse, when mine cracked it was dangling, threatening to get worse, so make a repair, even a duct tape temporary repair till you can get around to doing it better. this will help prevent more failure.

good luck
