I ordered up what I though would be the bracket and Heim joint to fit the clutch slave to a bus trans but it clearly will not work. Indeed, I don't see how any bracket available can work. The Bowden tube mounts in a lug on the trans and that lug interferes with any bracket available. I have a complete metal fabrication shop and I can't even figure out how to fit one made from scratch. So ... the obvious finally hit me; why not just use this lug to mount the front of the clutch slave. Anyone else run into this problem? How did you solve it. If I use the lug is it strong enough for this purpose?

Here are a few shots; first the Bowden Lug I'm talking about

Hydraulic clutch accusation GP. Why? I have no idea. But all of us skip to the beat of a different drummer. Shocked

If somebody who knows anything would like to contribute some input on my question I would be most appreciative.

If the bowden tube lug is strong enough to handle the pressure from depressing the cable operated clutch system for however many years that it has been attached to that trans. Then it should be strong enough to handle the slave cylinder pressure. It appears that you have already solved your problem by making your custom bracket.
I have never had a hydro actuated clutch. But have seen many in offroad cars a long time ago, when I wasn't paying attention to how they were setup.
So what is the question?
Have a great weekend.

Yes, this is an offroad car but the principal of clutch is the same as any bug or bus. In any case the difference between the Bowden tube and this setup is that the clutch slave pulls directly on the lug whereas the tube simply rides on it with the cable moving through it. I was hoping someone had dealt with this and had some advice.

On my type 1 trans I used the bracket similar to yours to attach the forward end but you have a length issue I did not. I looked for a pic but I don't have one. I will take one if you want me to.
