Episode 14 is really helpful for those of us that will need to do metal work in the lower part of the truck/bus. This is clearly not Claudio's his first rodeo doing metal work. Thanks for sharing. |
Awesome! I have a lot more videos of metal work coming that will be useful on step to step 👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah Claudio has been doing that on many buses, even on crashed buses too... crazy projects! Happy to share! More coming soon! _________________ 1967 VW Bus walk-thru 21 window deluxe

Enjoyed immensely. I reckon you decided to go all the way! Gonna be better than new when it’s done. I’m guessing a fair amount of time has passed since 15 was filmed, and I’d imagine it’s come a long way since then. Thanks for spending the time and effort to put these videos together. They’re both entertaining and informative. I’m looking forward to all that follow. |
Thanks! Yes all the way haha, used to want just bottom area then nah do it all...

Nice videos and nice job! Have watched all of your videos and the bus seems to become really nice! I was just thinking about a stuff, in one episode you said that the correct wheels for your bus should have four holes in it, busses from 1963/64- and up did not have any holes in the sides, they was smooth. Wheels with holes are correct for small hatch busses (1955 - 63). |
Thanks, thank you for the wheel info. _________________ 1967 VW Bus walk-thru 21 window deluxe

1964-71 rims have a smaller slot in between the rim and center section:

Ah gotcha... I assume they are 14" ? I am looking at 15" ones... easier and more options on tires that's what I heard? _________________ 1967 VW Bus walk-thru 21 window deluxe

Lots of options in both rim sizes. With 15" one can get a bigger outer diameter tire than one can get with a 14" rim. Bigger the rear tire the less RPM at same MPH in fourth gear.
There are several good tire threads in the "FAQs" at the top of the forum. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Not sure what you are assuming is 14", unless it is the images in our last post, if so yes.

You can see the extra pressing the 15 inch rims has in the center section.

That forward of pulley tin has one hole for an Autostick type 1 and the other round hole on the other side is a way too big DPO hack. You need to weld up those holes or find a better piece of tin. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Hey Mick.
You're having such a proper restoration done so I'm wondering why the Ebrake handle was not removed? Too hard for them to remove? |
