you are a total inspiration! I can't believe you went into this as a beginner (or at least not an expert)

Nice job - excited to see the next bit of progress!

Thank you for the nice words, I was inspired by members in this forum, very pleased to hear that I can inspire someone as well Smile

Here is what I did this weekend.
First, the passenger door:

Then face lifting, lets remove some nasty years and make it look younger Wink
The seaside is about 250km from here but the still imagine we are on the seaside Smile Here the surface is clean and as straight as possible in order to put as less body filler as possible:

Here the surface is first treated with rust remover then sanded again and cleaned also hammered as straight as I could do it, in order to put as less body filler as possible:

And the result after 3 times putting body filer and sanding:

I'm pleased with the result, time for beers, cheers!

Nice work on the SC my friend. I know what you're going through. That's gonna be a solid truck ready for the road when you're through. I'm at a standstill on mine until I get some other work done and have more cash in hand.

Hello to all VW fans Smile
Here is some update from my project. While I was playing with the body filler and sanding some parts arrived. The new battery tray on place, and new air filter fitted which was a must.

Switching gears at the first test drive was very hard, so I decided to try the quick shifter , really great staff I have gears now Smile

Then this weekend I bought some primer to cover and check what I did after the body filler. The whole passenger side is done plus both doors. Pretty good result, also exposed some bad areas where I have to put again some body filler:

And finally, the front, it looks like proper T2 already and it has a front grill as well. Cool Smile

Aha! I see in that photo what seems to be an original air intake hose that connects to the duct that goes up to the "snorkel" intake in the B pillar. I would be very interested in seeing some more detailed photographs of that part, as this is the only one I have seen!

Tcash, I have replaced the shift coupler with new one and also the front bushing was missing at all, but still it was a bit hard for me to find the gears. It is much better now with this quick shifter.

Regarding to the air intake, I made a little mistake. There is a metal stand that I removed and then welded back, but not on the exact same place, and now I have about 15mm gap between the hose and the metal chassis. I have to find a way to extend the metal in order to fit. jtauxe do you want some pictures as it is mounted on the bus, or removed out of it. I can make both for you next weekend.

I guess both, if you don't mind. This is good documentation of a rather rare part. I'd like to get my trucks plumbed to use the high intake, and this piece is a critical link.

Thanks!

And, great work on rescuing that truck, by the way.

IIRC the intake hose is fed from an opening in the cab?
Pictures of that would be nice?
Thank you

Sorry but my bus is in a garage outside the city where I go during weekends. The pictures ToolBox uploaded are very much showing the setup, only difference with me is the air box which is using the new square air filter, I'll make a photo this weekend.

Tcash the air intake is going inside the cabin then in the pillar, here some pictures.

Great job! I love this project! Any chance you still have the measurements of the inner sill? The ones beneath the treasure chest doors. I need to make those same pieces!
