Here is a Vintage photo of a Renault dealership from the city I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. You can still see a Dauphine on the lot and one on the pole? If I had to guess I would say the pic was taken in the early 1970's? The yellow Dauphine stayed on the pole for decades late as this site was a few different used car dealerships. I think it was finally removed about ten years ago.

That's the typical way that the pans were shortened for the Manx buggies. You might want to check out the buggies forums for insight.

For extra strength, I've seen where they make the first cut at the forward cut & then they don't cut through the bottom plate on the rear cut. They then remove 8"-10" of the bottom plate on the forward section so that there is not a continuous seam.

It’s kind of wild that a 2 door beetle is longer than a 4 door Dauphine!

Hello Keith,

Yes it is wild, also the rear wheel well is more narrow on the Dauphine. I have to cut out the inner skirt to fit the rear end.

More pics soon.

BajaBrian54,

That looks really cool! I going to place the body and body together before I cut it down. I wanted to show what it looks like without any mods.
