I've preserved pictures of the cheap van. Who knows why really nice vans go for peanuts sometimes. Drugs? Divorce revenge? Impatient? Hidden damage? Stolen? Want it gone quick and don't care about the money?

Whatever the case may be, someone just got an absolute killer deal on what looks like a super clean van! If it's someone here, please let us know how it turned out.

-Kevin

Here are the stats:
1991 volkswagen vanagon
condition: good
cylinders: 4 cylinders
drive: fwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 124000
paint color: red
title status: clean
transmission: manual
type: van

And the description:
My lost is your gain. If you have the time to get the radiator flushed. Its yours! come get it! Everything works. TITLE IN HAND! Bring battery cables,,,,,,have not driven this winter. 5 sp manual

And the pictures:

Is this the same van? If it is, that is a pretty fast flip for profit. It is now $5,000.

I'd bet that's the same van. Especially with the mileage being the same. I'd guess you must go to the DMV because the flipper hasn't even put it in his name yet? Trying to avoid paying taxes? Title issues? Something is fishy.

That's a huge jump in price for a flip, especially for an untested unit. I personally can't sell anything I haven't gotten to know and driven around for a while. Otherwise, how can I honestly and in good faith represent what I'm selling? I wonder if the van even has new tires Rolling Eyes

Flippers may not have the same compunction as you, hence the sellers need to asuage his concerns with a 100 mile ride.

Note that the ad has changed. Either they are watching our dialogue on this thread, or someone questioned them about it.

VW love, right? Well, they say don't hate the player, hate the game. I'm wondering what work has been done to recondition the van. If the buyer has indeed bought new tires, changed all of the fluids, bought a new battery and perhaps installed some other new parts or spent some time figuring out electrical gremlins or something, then okay. The repair timeline doesn't fit though. Going from $1300 to $5000 would require some justification beyond simply the fact that it may sell at that price, imo. I believe in passing good deals onto the next guy because it builds abundance in my life. But whatever... we all carry ourselves how we choose. All I know is what works for me, and what allows me to sleep well at night.

Nice shell/parts van available: https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/6061256244.html

I saw an ad for the burgundy van this morning, again for $5K, but the post doesn't seem to be on there now. Maybe it sold. The most recent ad was better as the poster was more forthcoming about buying the van a week ago and also what conditioning had been done. At the end he stated that the title was clear, but not yet in his name and that's why buyer/seller would need to go down to the dmv. I personally steer away from deals where the vehicle is not in the name of the person selling it, but I've also been bit before. I hope any potential buyer proceeds with extreme caution.
