I was wondering if anyone made aftermarket replacement front seat frames. My driver seat frame is rusted beyond repair (by me) so I was wanting to see how much it would cost to just purchase a new seat. '76 westy

I've thought of that but if there was such a creature as a new one with new springs etc. that's the direction I'd prefer Smile

you can put a vanagon seat in your 76 rails.
and you can put a modern town & country stow and go in with some adaptive bits.. think vancafe may still sell the adapter.
read thru this vanagon thread. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=649464&highlight=stow
oh heres the base adapter https://www.vw-t3-bus-shop.de/sitzadapter-fur-sportscraft-armlehnensitz-s91s81

for brand new seats well you can put recaros in

My '76 also had the earlier rails and wouldn't work with Vanagon seats. But I was lucky enough to get the rails off a Vanagon and install them on mine. I'm very happy with the results, since driving 4 hours isn't a pain in the backside anymore.
