Blasting today. Got everything ready for the zinc primer... If it ever gets here Smile

I treated the blasted steel with After blast to keep it from rusting untill primer arrives.

Reshaped my engine lid header. The outside part will need a piece added and a relief cut as it is slightly stretched on top.

Bit of time tonight so finished the header.

Painted a couple engine tins. Not worth powder coating them. Had to weld up a few holes but they will do for now.

Straightened the right rear this morning. The frame was low by 1/4" at the back and the vertical post was back in the middle by 3/4". Matches the left now.

If my zinc paint would show up I could start putting this thing back together.

Corrner fitted. Frame was still off but once it was straight everything fit nicely. Making the patch was fun. Curves both ways. Very happy to get this done. Now if I only had my zinc paint...

Forgot the splash shield so made one.

Panel at lower right was off so built it up with some weld and ground it off flat so I will have a nice straight seam. Easy fix now. Not after it gets assembled.

Blasted and treated a bunch of parts and some of the body.

Once I start welding thing will go together quick.

Zinc primer came in so started assembly. Next is mount the door so I can fit the dog leg.

Didn't make it to work today. Came down with bus feaver...

Got the dog leg on this morning. Went quite well. Started by welding in a spot at bottom rear of door. Then a spot at bottom of inner dogleg structure to b piller.

After the back was secured i braced it to aline with the door and clamped the front. Took alot of playing to get the door to aline. The bottom hinge was broke out and welded back to far farward at some point.

How did you weld the upper rear of the outer dogleg seam? Glue?

Rear corner welded in.

Had good luck and everything went together very well. Battery tray was a tight fit. When I taped the battery tray in the stick I had holding the frame the proper width came loose. Everything is actually straight. Smile

Engine lid header back on. Very happy with how everything came out. The rear was quite a mess.

And the lid fits. Smile

I need to convert it to a church key latch though. Hopefully I can find a latch section to weld in.
