Blasted and painted some engine parts tonight.

Added primer to the last bit of epoxy I applied.

Looking like I will need to purchase a full set of front torsion leafs. I figured there would be lots of individual leafs kicking around. I have one narrow and one mid width leaf broke.

Actually considering welding the two broken leafs and putting them back for the summer, (no more than a thousand km this summer)... or more likely just leaving them out. Seeing that it was common to remove some anyway...

Going to keep looking but time is running out and the budget is tight.

Decided I didn't need to work today Smile

Some more blasted and primed. Sprayed zinc before the epoxy in the vent box as I couldn't tell if I got all the rust. Also a good layer of zinc around edge of the roof. Hard to blast it good there.

Hope to get most of the back done tomorrow. Should be much easier blasting in the back.

What zinc primer are you using?

Walls and ceiling blasted and epoxyed. That was more blasting than I like in one day.

Next up is the floor.

Dude,

You must have like a coffee pot out there. You're energy seems boundless! So many of these threads start off with gusto and then the OP burns out and the threads die.

Nice to see you continuing to push through!

Primer over the epoxy this morning. Loving how nice it looks cleaned up.

Dug out my old parts. Everything is in poor shape but I can get by with most. It was always the plan to get the body correct and worry about the quality and correctness of the bolt on stuff later. I will need to get replacement front signals though.

Carburetor rebuilt. I mostly put a kit in it last summer to get it running but never cleaned it.

Had one part left over. A spring washer that doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Too small to go on the shafts...

Floor done. Just the back of bulkhead left inside.

Started looking at the steering box. It has no play but need a seal. Took the wire guide tube out to clean the old wire out and it has a hole rusted in it. Going to drill the tube out and weld in a new steel tube.

Had good luck and everything went together very well. Battery tray was a tight fit. When I taped the battery tray in the stick I had holding the frame the proper width came loose. Everything is actually straight. Smile

Eastwood calls them "Intergrip Panel Clamps"
http://www.eastwood.com/intergrip-panel-clamps-set-of-4.html

I didn't use them often but very handy when needed. Welding magnets are a great help also.

Cleaning some electrical stuff.

Found the rattle in the speedo. The screws backed out inside. Cleaned it up and reset to 0. Need to find some lenses, bulbs and grease.

Switches were all good but one. Took it apart and soaked in vinager. Cleaned and bent the contacts in a bit. Reassembled and works.

Fuel gauge needs a needle. I may just glue something on for now.

Fixed the steering box. 1/4" brake line is the same size as the wire guide.

Ground off the old tube flush and drilled it out. It originally was brazed in so I ground out the brass leaving a gap to fill with weld. inserted new tube, welded it in and ground flush. Had to drill the center as a little weld filled it in. Then deburred it. Good as new.

Left side and part of the front done today. Uncovered some holes on the nose under a thin layer of filler. I will need to replace some steel there. Hopefully I can get the nose and roof done this week.
