Would you happen to have any pictures into the pocket in the upper / hinge side pocket on the inside of the door? Size and access questions.
Thanks,

Do you mean this area?
I can try to get a photo of the back of the hinge if that's what you are looking for. |
Yes. Thanks for the picture. I'm trying to determine if there is room in the door top to duplicate this mirror mount on my split.
The bus is a bit of a drive to check, remove the door panel, etc.
Thanks again. dgsaz |

Should be able to access from the next opening back. Not sure how solid it would be. Think it will need reinforcement to hold the mirror solid.

I found a seat belt backer plate under the gas tank this summer, been there for over 50 years, left there during the original build. I took the plate and shaped it to match the curve of the door and use this nut to secure.
http://www.westcoastmetric.com/search.html?q=mirror+nut&go=Search
Trying to get a feel for how much material and fingers I can get in there.

Vent window frames fixed.
Found some 16 gage steel that was correct for the patch. Welded it in and ground it off. Used a file to get the edge nice and smooth.
On the first one I needed to bent the corner a little as it straitened out some with the welding. I also checked that the pin didn't move.
Built up the pin with weld. I cooled it a few time do prevent the brass that was used to attach it from melting. Ground it round and used a flat file to finish it off.
They went much easier than expected. Now on to fixing popout frames...

And the other side.
Taking forever for the paint to dry. It is a bit cold in the shop. I will have to wait until tomorrow to get the build primer on.

Its funny painting when it is not warm. I was literally sitting around waiting for the paint to dry. Looking good! |
