Hello Thing community. I didn't want to hi jack the blown fuse turn signal topic as I have a different issue and need help. Every thing was fine until I see an ad for "Speedometer Gears" to fix my odometer that never worked. I printed out their instructions and seemed easy enough, I take pictures of the wires and remove the speedo. I remove fuel gauge and notice my speedo is different than the one in the instructions, so I stop. decided to live with the inop odo for now.

In putting it back together I had to replace several female connectors that were cracked or broke when reconnected. Now I have the following problems;

1.) Right front turn signal not flashing, both filaments on,
the rear flashes ok. In troubleshooting removed both turn signal
bulbs (resistance is much lower on one terminal in the socket)

2.) No license plate light (worked before)

3.) No hi beam dash blue light, has new bulb
head lights hi and low work.

I tested continuity from steering wheel plug to fuse panel ok.
Replaced broken F connectors w/ 22-16 AWG female connectors.
The Dimmer works, the Emergency Flasher works.

Thanks for any advice, tips, help.

Troubleshooting...found right turn signal base where the dual filament 1157 bulb goes
shorted ~3.5M ohms between both terminals should be open, base shows corrosion.
Repaired another cracked female connector.
Still working on license plate light and Hi beam indicator.

1.) Replaced right turn signal base to resolve both filaments being on issues.

2.) removed corroded T2 (double wire connector on engine lid), replaced
connector license plate light works.

3.) Both indicators, hi beam and turn signal in the speedo have new bulbs and
bulb holders, still not lighting up.

Still troubleshooting.

Is the speedo ground good?

Does you speedometer illumination (two bulbs) work?

Thanks for the reply Semper, The speedo ground is good and the two bulbs light
(grey w/red wires). The turn signal (blue w/red) indicator now works.
The hi beam indicator (blue w/white) is still out, it's not the bulb or holder
and it's tied to left hi beam (white wire) bulb from S3.
I have lost count of the broken female connectors I've found.

I'm glad it's hobby not a job.

If the holder and bulb are good and the headlights change to bright then there's not much else other the the blue/white wire from S3 to the bulb. Take a continuity reading at S3 and the hot tab of the high beam bulb holder.

I was very happy when I replaced my entire wiring system (Thing Shop). Very surprise at how much resistance the old 48 year old wiring developed over the years.
