Some more.I have made aluminium panels for the doors trims and back of cab panels.Had them all powder coated in metallic silver.Came up with an idea to mirror what Volkswagen Australia did with their logo for everything manufactured here. Was the round VW logo with a Kangaroo facing each side.Managed to find some on Ebay. Will be on the inside just below the back window. Can be seen thru the front screen.

Made some progress to get me closer to first drive.Finished all wiring for the car. Just have modified Subaru loom and ECU to install. Decided to tidy the really ordinary loom up and cut a metre from it. All done. Made the exhaust and had it coated and all fitted.Had the cover made for the tray. I bought some material from the US that was used for the sunroof.Bought a cover from a new Toyota Hilux to get all the plastic hardware and the ally tracks that rivet to the tray. Now have a clip on cover.I have made new steel running boards as well as 2 small units to go behind the rear guards. Hopefully stop stone chips. Made some rubber mud flaps as well

This was my first attempt at a Beetle ute.Drag Car only.Thought a daily driver clone would be a good follow up.Getting a trailer built to tow it behind the Hot Rod.

That’s a very big positive reply. Many thanks. It’s been a long major renovation. Feeling fairly good now because it’s back has been broken. |
