As someone with almost zero auto maintenance experience, but with several bicycle from-scratch builds and rebuilds, and a desire to learn and try, this gives me hope for the future with my van.

That was beautiful. Really spoke to me. If life had turned out differently for me, I would have been perfectly and deeply happy living in a van and being that guy.
It didn't, and I am outrageously happy at the way life DID turn out.
If we showed the video to 10,000 random people in Western society, most would feel a mix of negative emotions. I'm a buttoned down MBA with a wife, two wonderful children, a mortgage, 8 cars (wups make that 9 in a few weeks), and all the terrific stuff that entails. But I feel nothing but positives, and a tinge of envy, and am happy there are people out there doing that. Great stuff.
