Mac OS X - Safari Link Opening fails

Just today I've noticed that trying to open a link from a forum page, a new tab opens, but it just shows "about: blank" instead of the website.

It seems like some kind of link hijacking is going on with javascript on the forum page?

I use the Ghostery extension to block 3rd party ads and javascript.

Some more details.. ghostery is blocking something called VigLink http://www.viglink.com/products/)

Maybe unrelated, but on my work PC today (Windows, IE), I could only open two new tabs. Subsequent "open in new tab" clicks did nothing. And many of those that DID open were blank.

I rebooted and then tried again about an hour later, and all worked fine.

Some of external links on the site run through Viglink so that the site gets some extra banner income via links.
None of the links are changed to go somewhere else but they run through the Viglink site first.

I guess Ghostery messes that up?
I was not aware of that.
This seems weird to me they break it, it should just undo the link rather than mess it up.

If you want to turn off Viglink for any sites you visit, you can do that here:
http://www.viglink.com/opt-out/

This may fix your issue.
