FYI, I noticed that they look almost exactly like the Truck-Lite 27270C.
https://www.amazon.com/Truck-Lite-27270C-Headlamp/dp/B007K8AA7I
If they are, I have a pair on my Vanagon and another on a motorcycle. Light pattern, brightness, and color are excellent. The Truck-Lites have been around for a while and are considered some of the best LED headlights for the money. I highly recommend them. |

This is an exact copy the Truck-Lite 27270C, just priced $66.00 higher than the real deal on amazon. I have heard that Truck-Lite resells their lights to other companies, but they wouldn't confirm that when I emailed them.
There are quite a few knock-offs of the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 headlamp that will outperform these at a lower price. _________________ Jay Brown

No brackets and mods are needed for the TruckLite right? I have a square TruckLite on my BMW motorcycle - good looking and very good light. _________________ Learn to ride. Ride to learn. |

Truck-Lite and most other 7" round LED headlights are plug and play for 80-85 vans and South African Grill. _________________ Jay Brown

On a related note, has anyone found a good LED solution for the inner/high beams on the SA grill? _________________ '87 EJ22 Full Westy "Hamish" |

Heres before and after , I won't have a chance to do any aiming or night pics till the weekend, the build quality seems to be there with the bulbs and the GW buckets , took about 2 hrs to swap the whole works

Artacoma,
That really looks good. I am so tired of my dim squares, even with relays and high watt bulbs.
I'm hoping someone in the Denver area gives them a try, posts here, and then lets me bother them some evening.

These LEDs look great. I understand that they are plug and play if you've upgraded to SA set up, which I have with Jay's in-line wiring harness, but are these LEDs also okay to run if you have high powered headlight relays too? No need to "un-wire" the relays? _________________ 86 Syncro GL Tin Top

No need to remove the relays. |

Jay, Can you point to any knock-offs of the JW Speaker 8700 Evo2 that you speak of?
Thanks! |

No idea, my DIY SA Grill doesn't use 5.25" inners. _________________ Jay Brown

A guy from gowesty did say that they do not build these lights in house and that they are in fact just being resold. I'd say that the trucklites are most likely the ones they are re-selling. Amazon is the obvious better deal for the same product. _________________ '90 Carat w/ '95 phase 1 EJ22 OBD2 conversion |

Hey guys check out this LED with DRL.
I've got them on my 86 and very happy with them for around town in traffic and freeway driving. I have them on the S.A. grill.
I'm not wildly enthusiastic about it's high beam, but I have the S.A. High beam and together it is really good providing light to see the road in front of you with oncoming superbright projection beams.

There are more then one DRL 7" brand on there, I bought by highest output rating. |

Those look great Steve.
Anything additional needed for the DRL or is that an always on on the light? _________________ 1984 Westfalia |

I went with 4 - JW Speaker for inners and outers. The inners are P/N 8360 and slight mods (they're 5 3/4") to the buckets need to be made but nothing to serious. Outers are the 8700 Rev 2. Kept everything on relays, modified the pigtails - works great and as others have mentioned, vastly improved over the squares!
