Thanks for the link. What was the shipping lead time like? |
The small items I ordered from him only took about a week to arrive at my house. I was surprised they arrived so fast from Poland, but they did. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |

Didn't really do much on DC this weekend. I spent most of it driving it.
But one thing I did notice is that this thing is really noisy inside. I realized a few reason why.
1.Rear divider panels missing
2.Transmission is mounted on solid mount.
3. Rear panels not installed.
On my 15 I insulated behind everything I could and the bus is super quite.
So I decided to use same stuff in DC.
I realized that the panels covering the gas tank needs some sort of bracet on the bottom That I'm missing. So I will do some more research on that.
Mean while I insulated behind rear panels and in gas tank area.
Until I can locate parts needed,I had an extra large car cover I stuffed in and around gas tank area and also under back seat I threw down a couple of moving blankets. It Made A HUGE DIFFERANCE! I aslo this weekend started replacing black screws holding panels on with correct ones.
Some Before/After pics
I did get some help with exchanging screws out.

Earl you are killing it. Do you mind sharing with all of us what type of sound deadening insulation you used. I have had the privilege of riding in your 15 and it was unbelievably quite. _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

Paul, I swear by this stuff. It works great as you know and is a far cheaper option as compared to other name brand sound deadening materials out on the market.
http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&a...amp;adurl=
It has a sticky backing that sticks well but I go the extra mile after cleaning panels real good I spray some 3m super 90 adhesive just on panel and not on insulation. This worked really good on my 15 ceiling. I was worried that it might fall down after I installed headliner I waited a year after putting it on ceiling to see if it would drop and it didn't and now after four years no sign of it failing. I've since have gone back and taken a few panels off to see after five years how it's held up and every panel looks as it did when I installed it. Great stuff. _________________

DANG Cuņado! I had NO idea about this thread going on up in here!!!??? Cuņado Restorations is in full force! Your ride is coming along really nice my man! I'm stoked for you having the both rides you've always wanted. And you are extremely lucky to have a clever Siberian, who worked that VW plant in Siberia, whom can help you out with what you can't. I bet your neighbor, Sergie, is happy too. I actually know your bus ......... I camped right next to it at this past OEBC campout.
So now you have to decide which bus you are driving out to Buses By the Bridge???? |

Both buses will be making the trip Johnny. Think they wont? I have a chili contest to win! My second place last year is killing me. I'm perfecting my chili even more to secure the win next year. Ronnie promises everyone will know the rules!! YOU HAVE TO MAKE CHILI AT SHOW NOT AT HOME. _________________

Ok DC experts I need some help. I understand panels dividing gas tank area and back seat, that maybe there are two styles early and late? I found some on internet and before I pull trigger on them I just want to make sure they will work on my 60' DC. Thanks in advance and sorry for crappy pictures but its all I have.

I believe the early has a longer vertical pressing like Everett has shown. Late is shorter. The ones you are looking to buy appear to be late Cunado. I think they are the same as far as mounting dimensions and they will work in your DC, but the pressing is not correct.
In this photo from the Gallery, the early is on top. _________________

They are not the same, no need to crawl in, Everett show one of the two old style.
Cuņado Wear you show the late -splittwindow?/baywindow? Parts.
My 57 Single cab has a different style (you can see the pictures in my thread in the signature) but i think you need the same style as Everett show you.

Thanks, now I can see they are NOT the same.
The screw hole in the middle of the left and right sides makes the size of the pressing more evident _________________ How to Post Photos

Well allot has change with the DC since last post. First It got a name "Buck The Truck" So new suspension was in order front to back. Old running gear didn't work for me or with plans I had,so it was exchanged out. Widefive front beam and rear drop plate's along with a rancho trans pro street.
Old out..
New in
New look
Also I was under the gun to get things in order on Buck because last weekend was a local camping trip up to Julian,Ca at KQ ranch.
So I finish on Thursday and Friday after work Quickly load up Buck and headed up the mountain.
