Have had a slightly modified 36hp in my '59 Kabrio for years. Ported heads, some valve work, "3/4" race cam, and HD oil pump with bypass oil filter and return oil lines thru the valve covers.
The stock muffler was cut at both ends, all the baffles removed, and then welded back together. To complete this, straight thru slant/cut tailpipes were bolted up. Less exhaust restriction and not sure if adds much or any hp....... but the sound is great. The cam at idle ..... _________________ Scott |

I have the TDE endpipes with 28mm inner dia instead of std 22.
I dont think I have more hp, but they are available a couple of hundred rpms more on my std 36 hp 🙂 _________________ I got a historic car, every scratch got a history...

Rewelded stock muffler with slant tips. The primaries are the stock muffler inlets and j-pipes into the gutted muffler. Not the classic definition of 4-2-1 design. _________________ Scott |
