PostPosted: Fri Sep 02, 2016 5:59 pm    Post subject: Dealer Window Sticker Reply with quote

I'm restoring my bug and when it's finished I'd like to have a few details to go with it. Things like the little paper sleeve around the visor and the window sticker kind of "complete" the restoration for me and are cool to bring to shows and put in/on the car. So I'm looking to see if anyone has a scan or good picture of the window sticker for a '67 beetle. Preferably it would be blank but it doesn't have to be. Also looking to see the dimensions of it. Here is what I'm talking about

Ok thanks. I'm just looking around right now not necessarily looking to buy just more to see if people have replicas of them. I won't really know what to put on it until my bugs birth certificate comes in December. If you could take a scan of it and post dimensions that would be great!

Out of curiosity, would the sticker be like the one previously posted or like this one?

Here's one I posted a while back in the gallery but I don't have a direct scan or the dimensions

Cool thanks! So is that the correct one for '67. I've seen both marked for a '67 type 1 so could it be the early and late '67 type of thing?

I think both of the ones above are the same for 1967.

I found this 1967 one in the gallery

I found a 1966 one in my stack of VW literature.

It's this one from the Antioch, CA dealer page on the site:

It's approx. 8" wide by 7" tall

If you save off that image and open it in an image program, it will also give you the exact size.
I believe that is a direct scan of that window sticker from my flat scanner.

Try saving it off and printing it too - it should print out the right size for a comparison against one you make.

Ok I'll make a blank one and print one of these off. I also found a eBay seller with 2 reproductions so I'll get one of those and compare all three of them; yours, mine, and the reproduction.

Also should it be on card stock or normal paper?

Just finished making one. I think it looks pretty good, the cutting could be better but it looks NOS. I re did the center logo and separated the letters from the paper so I could remove the yellowing. Now it is on a bright white piece of paper. I'll post pictures tommorow. Oh and for a black with red bug, would they have charged the $35 for the red interior, or was it free, making it not on the paper?

Yes, it's totally flimsy paper.

A red interior sounds like a standard interior to me but since the sticker above says Leatherette Pigalle 30.00 I would duplicate that line item.
