Hola,
Love how you take care of every little detail!
I just found this. Two years later, but can't imagine they changed the strap.
Off topic: why has a 25hp engine, so 53 or older the single strap air cleaner? I thought in 53 they mounted oil bath filters with a single center nut? |

Feb. 1952 and earlier Buses have a leather strap
The center nut air cleaner is an alternate one made by another air cleaner maker.
I believe VW used both styles, when they were available.
I have see far less of those and only on Beetles but it's always possible they were used on Buses too.
His '51 should have a "T" air cleaner. _________________ How to Post Photos

I have what seems to be the original one on my 51 panel and it has 5 holes.
Maybe it depends of what was the manufacturer's mood |

Florian, considering the quantity and quality of the buses that you are rescuing, unquestionably you are a reference when talking about early barndoors
I wonder if you could inform the distance between the holes... |

Everett, mine came with a cyclone air filter. I think it's original from this bus.

shouldn't a barndoor not have the dimple for the wiper? _________________ Ruby red 1967 beetle sedan with a 2021cc
