I bought this sandblasting cabinet many years ago from the SOTO president Dave Heard. At some point I put it away because of a broken part & did not use it for many years. Just decided to get it up & working again.
What other tools have people built out of a Bus?

Wow! I haven't seen that blasting booth since '95 or '96, at their shop off the railroad tracks in Hayward. Brings back some good memories. _________________ "OG = Original German" -- TheSamba.com dictionary |

This isn't exactly a tool, but it was for a bus tool, does that count?
Now there's a story with this thing pictured. Our mutual friend Shortbus many years ago was the elected President of the Bus Pilots Association. I, being his humble friend who has dedicated 9 good years exploiting his failings, took it upon myself to help him with his speech coaching.
He had an "umm" and "uhhh" habit that grated at me like a citrus zester on my scrotum.
So, from my central place in the pizza meeting room, I was able to push the bus horn button on the top of the jug and activate a very polite, yet bright bus taillight upon hearing each of his notorious vocalized pauses. In short order I had nearly broken him of his habit, and I know he thanks me in his own way each time he must communicate verbally.
(The chrome "cap" is a non-functional splittie gas gauge that exactly filled the hole. There were many offers on this thing- but nobody wanted to pay my estimated $100 in parts value) _________________

A better question would be "How many tools have buses made?" _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Even though it is up & working I have decided to do some upgrading. Just bought an air filtration system, new gloves, & moisture trap. Thinking about painting it too. I'll post pics as upgraded. _________________ Home of the one true split Bus Motorhome |

Clara has cargo door check rods she uses as fire pokers.
I have seen bus beam assembly jigs using the front frame area in many shops.
I can't count the number of swap cases I have seen using bus popout windows or safari windows. |

Wasn't how to build that in Hot VWs way back when? Maybe it was Popular Mechanics. |

I want to see chicken coops and dog houses please. I have a single cab roof I use as a awning for my parts barn door. And I am making a single cab trailer, there must be many bus trailers. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. How 'bout people that have made a bar out of the nose. It could count as a tool to help the owner kick back after working on his bus. |

Weld the back of a bus lug nut to a wrench, it's the perfect size to open transmission fill hole. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

The lug bolts are 19mm. Isn't the tranny plug a 17mm? _________________ nothing |
