Maybe by aiming the dump tubes out the back it creates enough thrust to increase the vehicle speed by .017% on a 6% grade. |

Didnt think much about this since Crusher is a 77 and has the domed head type. But after seeing Colins old post about cutting the head off and retro fitting some flex tubing to it, am gonna do that. This bus will be running around the Sierras and Moab area next summer. I forsee boiling fuel or pump failure without it. _________________ You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. we have a 1977 that sees high temps - never a problem. I think the folks who would be affected most would be people stuck in Phoenix or LA traffic in hot weather.
That said, the trans gets hot enough to melt bearing cages inside of an 091. Dump tubes probably help with that too. Those tubes may have been a response to smog laws too in order to slow volatilizes from evap. If you have a solid lifter cam I have read they get in the way of valve adjustments. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |
