As some of you may already know, I had traded a tow hitch for Slayer's mini-bike. Intended to make one for him but he did not like the "bar receiver" I was going to use, so things changed a bit. The design is similar to the one I already had but there were a few changes after showing my idea to Crazy John. Originally I wanted just a steel plate to be welded unto the stock bumper bracket, "beef up" the bracket by "boxing it up", then have the crossbar welded in between the plates. Crazy John suggested to double up on the plates AND just build a beefier bracket from scratch, then bolt the bumper to it. After buying the plate and bar, finally scheduling a day to go to Ramona and developing the "template", we got it altogether as a kit. Still, while assembling it, I had to make yet another change. The 2 plates per side would make it difficult to reach the mounting bolts, so I had to cut part of the "outside" plates to correct that issue. 
Here's some pix starting with the original design and following with some stages. Lots of fitting and welding. Missing in the pix is the fact that the MONDO muffler did not like the plates being in its way, so I also had to cut it, rotate it to a clearing position then re-weld it.

While we, Strictly Vintage 2s have been going to Lake Havafew Buses By the Bridge for just about as long as it's been happening, most of the time we get a few goodies at the raffle but hardly ever the "grand prize". Well, Hot Dog Fred did win the motor ages ago but he was a regular too. This year though, we brought in a "newbie" with us, first time ever coming to Havafew and he ends up wining the motor on the first raffle Saturday no less!!!!

It's all good as he had the slowest bus totally stock and pulling a tent trailer while on the caravan. Anyway, here's his "chicken dinner"...
Just showing what it is. Will never look this good again!
