First time I've asked for help, so here it goes....long story short, my original distributor has been compromised to the point that it won't work...post for points was broken off....therefore, I'm looking for a replacement...here are the part numbers on the distributor...

113 905 205 K

0231 137 009

Any help would be greatly appreciated...!!!

If I have to buy an aftermarket replacement, I will...would rather have the original, but I know they're hard to come by....any recommendations for an aftermarket replacement?

Did you search the Classified section of this site?
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1935869

The other option is to look at the remanufactured sources. This may not be as good as OEM distributors, but may be good enough.

At least this one comes w/ a lifetime warranty... for whatever that means. Wink

Buy a used one with the same part number from the classified.

Even if there's a problem with it you can salvage the needed part and put it in yours.

The 205K is a very simple distributor and only has a handful of parts.

The typical 113 series SVA distributor has more than 26 individual pieces to it. while an 010 has roughly double that, neither one is really all that simple. I've rebuilt a truckload of 113 905 205 K and T's in the last 13 years or so. I have over 100 cores, they are actually pretty common distributors.

I've got a 205 T distributor which I'd sell for $35. It's pretty clean. Let me know if you'd like pictures.
