Hi JCockrill,
Since I can’t personally verify that I am about to post is correct, I can’t say that it is absolute fact, but I do believe that it can be considered:
Although I have the Tow Ready Tow Bar #63181 (adjustable), I do not use it in an extended setting, it is set up at the shortest length possible (overall length from end to end is 44 inches). You or someone else would have to confirm the end-to-end length of the model #63180; but I have a feeling it would be close to that length (please correct me if I am wrong).
The area that I have marked in the above post, as a possible location for chassis clamps to be mounted on a stock VW pan (1 pair per side), is exactly where front ends are attached for both the Berrien and Barrett chassis. My ball joint front end did not have a grease/zerk fitting located in an area that would interfere with the mounting of my front end to my Berrien chassis (once again, similar attaching points can be found on the Barrett chassis). It may be possible to seal up/relocate any fitting that may interfere with mounts, but you would have to confirm that with others. Hopefully, someone can chime in with their solutions. _________________ Gary David Holbrook
