I am fairly far inland, but I have not seen much of any rust on my Vanagons. The one has a bit of seam rust that it acquired in a single trip over a Washington State pass where they had used salt on the road. No real mold problem with a van that is given a decent scrub once a year. If you are not near the ocean and don't drive over salted roads I don't think you have much to worry about. |

I was primarily concerned about mold inside the vehicle. Another issue I have here with vehicles sitting outside is the pollen from Douglas firs accumulating into nooks and crannies and setting up like concrete. It can be tough to scrub off after it sets up. _________________ Casey--

I got my van inspected yesterday and am preparing to put it in the garage for the winter. I'm with State Farm Insurance and I suspend the coverage (except liability) until the first of May. I've been doing that for 30 years which is why mine is still rust free even though they salt the roads very heavily here in Salt Lake City. |
