I picked up a set of aluminum hinge covers the other day. Today I finally fit my pop outs onto my Oct 58 euro rag. Does anyone know how these covers are supposed to fit? It seems as if they ought to snap on, but I cannot seem to figure out what exactly they snap to.
Thanks
Bruce

As you push them over the hinge, the "C" profile of the cover opens a little- as it is rather soft. Then it just snaps on with one smooth motion.

Kind of counterintuitive to push hard against something that is getting rather rarish.

Did more research AFTER I posted (remember next time to research then post!) and it seems they are old EMPI covers that need a special hinge and bar to make them fit. Am I correct and if so any idea where to find the correct hinges and bars?

I've never heard that before- learn something new every day here. My two sets were original to two different '63s (one set is on my avatar car). Even the sheen on these covers has that slight iridescent look like the other OG trim. Do you care to link your info on these Empi parts?

I see it, but I don't believe it! Cool

I need to see what factory covers look like I guess (old, dingy, in the field)- because all I ever see at swaps are the new-production white plastic, screw on covers. I see far more of these aluminum covers.

Thanks for the link sir!
