Hello everyone, I have been doing quite a bit of reading here, and learning a lot. I just picked up a buggy a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying to figure out who makes the body. Maybe some of you will have some ideas. I tried to find it using that form on dunebuggyarchives but did not have any luck. Any help you can give will be appreciated.

Jeff

From the line up the front hood and the scoops for the windscreen wiper arms I would reckon its a Fiber Tech Manx.....shape of the shell is right but I only have pics of the lwb version and don't have a pic of the rear end.

Nice buggy whatever it is. Very Happy

Ok, thanks for help. I have been trying to find info on the Sand Sharks but haven't found much. But all the pictures I have come across look like mine. I thought I read where they were made in MI. But Could not find what years they were made. The pan is a 67, the engine which is going to get rebuilt is a 71.
Again thanks for responding.

Jeff

Everything seems like a Sand Shark to me, from what I know of them. It's definitely not a Meyers Manx, not anything from the FiberJet repertoire, not a Beecraft, it is a Sand Shark as far as I can see. But I have one little problem: Those Chevy Rally Wheels on it will make me go blind if I look at them long enough. Wink

Exactly like my Sandshark, but cut slightly bigger aroung the original license plate indent where mine is cut.

Original is a full sweep drape across the back.

Most all Sandshark back aprons were cut for carb clearance as there was only an inch or two over the stock carb.

If it's not done by now, you'll want to support the back seat with steel
angle thats tied to the upper shock mounts, an easy bracket to fab !

Much needed with this big overhang geometry.

Looks Great !

Sand shark looks favorite although some of them have their fenders quite high in relation to the bonnet line in comparison to yours.

The Fibre Tech Manx...........(Note NOT Fibre Jet or Meyers)...looks very similar.

Mine was a Sand Shark also, but made by APC, (American Plastics Company) and is called an Apache Sand Shark.

The only difference is the fixed windscreen.

The PO hacked the rear for carb clearance and I repaired it with built in clearance.

My favorite FG Buggy Body style.

Ok, Sand shark it is. Now if I can find out some more info on them. Like what years where they made? Anyone have any ideas on that?

And here are a couple pictures of my GTO. Its a 69 with a 400 Ram Air
My Dad bought the car new. He traded his 64 GTO for it. Wish he would of kept that one also, but at least he kept the 69

Jeff
