Looks like your sticking with the digifant. Im sure itll work out.

Sorry to see theres still snow happening up there!

Neil.

Oof...tell me about it. I'd be a lot further along without the white stuff. I though I was moving away from it! I'll be putting the top on as gently as possible.

Recaros came from a small municipality in Ontario that was upgrading their small bus fleet seat-wise.

Thanks...I'm after some Carat springs right now, but if that doesn't work out I may be interested in those H&Rs you're taking off that diesel.

Front hubs are back from the machinist...Barry @ Werke1 is a pleasure to deal with and gave me a set of front rotors (with bearings!) for the cost of shipping so I could have these done.

My T3 hardware that should be here next week was also ordered through Werke1.

Still plugging away, but I lost my beloved 9 year old cattle dog Rory on her birthday this year to inoperable spine cancer. I was building this so we could explore the island together. Has really slowed me down.

So sorry for your loss. I've lost several at this point in my life, and every one is a family member gone. Hang in there, and enjoy the beautiful syncro you will surely still have adventures in. Thanks for sharing.

I've got a full set of Whiteline bushings (I've already installed the rear trailing arm and rack bushings) from T3 and Powerflex radius rod purples.

My VW Speed Shop stainless exhaust showed up today...gets stellar reviews on the UK forums. Not sure why more people aren't running it over here? You do have to run a shorter oil filter in some cases - I'm going to run a larger one remote mounted with an oil cooler (already have a Mesa 48 plate).

It was $575 USD to my door w/$23 CDN duty/brokerage from UPS

I have bought one of these and am confused about how it is mounted. It seems that the oval strap around the muffler gets bolted to a mount on the main manifold, but there are no other mounts or supports and the whole exhaust system just hangs off the exhaust bolts/studs in the heads. Is this correct and that none of the original support rods or connection to the engine mount are not used?

Old post, but maybe there's still time. Questions regarding switching over to Synthetic on an old trans.

The inside of the trans case has lots of abrasive trash stuck on it, that the synthetic oil will wash off, thus contaminating the new expensive oil. Now your $$$ oil is actually detrimental, whereas using garden-variety oil would not add this problem. If you want to use a specialty oil consider Swepco 201 or another Dino oil. Just a suggestion.

If you want to use synthetic, will it be rebuilt? And how is the rebuilder cleaning the black stuff offa the inside surface of the case? Some of them have fairly wicked transaxle case cleaner eqpt. It's a good thing to know before going Synthetic

Dang...thanks for the info. I've already added it to the trans, but haven't run it yet. Guess I'll consider draining and doing something else.
