I am looking at my Bentley manual and it does not describe any orientation of rods other than the numbers stamped on rods go on the same side. The 1600 has the "bumps" that face up. Can I assume that they are symmetrical on the 36 horse and it doesn't matter? Chime in please. _________________ 1971 Tin Top Westy Campmobile 70 |

The stamped numbers on the cap and rod go down on a 36hp and they face up on a 1600. Jim _________________ Old enough to remember THRILLS, the gum that tastes like soap. |

I can see it now. With that orientation it places the notches for bearing tangs on the bottom. I am comparing 1600 rods to 36 horse rods and is exactly how they would lay out. Thank you, I feel a lot more comfortable proceeding with this build. Thanks to everyone that responded. _________________ 1971 Tin Top Westy Campmobile 70 |
