Can't locate a set of new 40hp exhaust valves at the moment due the suppliers I normally use being out of stock right now
Has anyone run the later FI 1600 30mm exhaust valves in a 40hp head? Other than reaming the guides for the 9mm stems; will they work?

Hold up the 40 hp valves and compare them with the 9mm valves- do you think they would flow the same-

at the time those were invented(read- used by vw)- VW was trying to meet emissions in the US that was going to put them out of the air cooled business.

SO they needed to run lean -which raised temps- all good for emissions- but the valve heads kept falling off.

in an effort to solve this they combined all the best technology- that is sodium filled stelite heads on big stems.

While they worked for the most part- they sure fill the hole.
