Update time!! I've been putting a lot of hours on this thing lately.
Got the shift rod bushing in, greased up and installed.
Excavated years of greasy dirt from the torsion arms on both sides, and gently faced the thrust surfaces with a file:
Started replacing all of the steel brake lines:
Bending steel brake lines by hand is one of my favorite things.
Clutch pedal maintenance:
Skipping around to the windows - all of them are held in by massive amounts of hardened caulking. Also the two remaining popouts are "latched" by screws and brackets.
Pulling the Jalousies:
Four WW Jalousie kits:
Took one apart, cleaned and greased everything, installed new seals. One down, four to go:
Also started one of the things I was really looking forward to:
Bye bye brown town!! The paint is in rough shape in parts (especially the nose), but I'm excited about getting the rest of that nasty brown and yellow off there.
Till next time.. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

Update time. I've just been plugging away at this thing but not taking many pics. Here's a few:
Got my spindles back and installed.
Brakes assembled, drums on, and it's back on it's own four wheels again:
I need to skip around and do more rewarding things like this because rust repair takes it's toll. Speaking of rust repair...
Continued working on the front doors:
Had a donor piece for the pass. side door that saved me a ton of time and trouble:
I found that using a piece of perforated angle iron helped to line things up and create a "welding portal" to get a tack in there while it's clamped up.
At this point, major rust repair on the front doors is done. Welded up some trucker mirror holes and painted the upper frame:
Did some paint stripping:

Thanks man!
I did get some window frame repair done (lots of rust along the bottom and a bunch of 30 year old silicone gobbed on everywhere) and painted with some rattle-can pearl white:
And I did end up getting the floor screwed in (I had fitted it around the A pillars over a year ago) so it was a rewarding moment:
I used most of a box of 100 screws.
Now to take one screw out, plug weld the crap out of it, take the next one out, plug weld the crap out of it... _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

Time for my semi-annual update.
Front floor is now welded in:
Also patched some holes in the wheel tubs with some slightly less rusty metal:
I coated the wheel well areas with brush-on bedliner because of the large amount of pitting:
Pulled the steering box out of storage, drained it (it was pretty much empty), cleaned it up, filled it back up with gear oil/grease mix, and re-installed.

Pulled the parcel tray out of storage, cleaned off a large amount of contact cement (vinyl was glued over the whole thing), welded up some holes, prepped and painted with some texture paint to hide the overall pitting and damage. Came out pretty good:
For a little side project, I fixed one of the door handles that had broken at the spring area:
My new LED headlights came in, so I fixed up the headlight buckets and started tinkering with the electrical:

There was a lot of rust and pitting under the windshields, so I filled some of that in and painted it with Tower paint - but it wasn't a great match. Way too gray for the pearl white, but oh well.
A little buffing:
After that, I cleaned up the windshields and steering wheel, and reinstalled them:
Three-point seat belts, driver's side done:

Hey Barry,
I just flattened the broken areas off with a file, carefully drilled small holes with my drill press, and pressed / JB Welded in a piece of scrap steel wire.
I re-bent a small coil spring I had to replace the return spring. It doesn't have as much 'snap' as the original, but the handle does return home.
We'll see how long it lasts... _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.
