Just received a new apron for Christmas, but it has creases on the bottom.
How should I get rid of these?

Laughing I just hammer it? Do I need a dolly? The creases look less in the photos.

Edit: Is there too much metal in that area or not enough?

If your using filler on other parts of the car ,why not their as well?

If you hammer and dolly those ridges out it's going to stretch that area and make it bulge. The reason those ridges are there is because during the manufacturing process the method used was not good enough to shrink it so it bulked it up.

To do the job totally right ,you will have to shrink the ridges down. Edit: That would keep the generalized contour the way it is without the ridges.

It seems there is more metal than needed there.

I would put that on my list of things to nitpick and probably ,hopefully never get to it. You could smooth it out with filler and always use a heat gun and scrape it off and redo it at a later time.

Here's how bad it really is.

I think I'll just get some rage gold and smooth it out.

I would contact the vendor on that part and tell them you need a shipping label to return that to them. That can't be by design but a test run or something.

I got it for Christmas, I'd rather not return it. It's from WW so they pick them so they all were probably the same.

I also got a front apron from WW in the same condition. I've been contemplating sending it back, leaving them alone or trying to pound them out.

I bet all of the companies that's sell these have the same bad stampings. I think the best we can do is hammer and bondo.

So you know, that type of workmanship is what a cost cutting domestic car manufacturer would do on the area around the tunnel/firewall/front floor and would be covered up with padding and insulation. GM for example ;who did not cut corners with their body forming ,would have never done a job like that.

It's not the stampings is because they are not stretching the panel somewhere else.

I know a big name company wouldn't do that, klokkerholm is not really that big of a name and I see them cutting corners like this. Ever other part of the panel is fine even perfect if I dare say.

Wow, that's pretty bad. Not sure how much it cost, but I'd either prep it properly and bondo, or return and order a top notch piece from Wolf. I plan to order a 4 finger apron from Wolf for my 56.

I don't think he is talking about them. This is from WW and is clearly not "top notch"
