I hate my original seats in my 70' bus. They have new coconut pads for WW and they still suck. They are what limit my time driving distances. I don't go more than 400 miles at a stretch in a day. Lots of stops along the way to stretch (and pee) as I'm over 50.. Wink

I'm on the hunt for better seats that won't put my noggin any closer to the roof.

Original seats but with one inch upholstery foam instead of coconut pad.

Driving for a couple of hours, break, couple of hours is usually best.

Even in Europe going 450 to 500 miles in a day is possible in my bus, and not having any downtime in a 2000 mile round trip.

One way to reliability on long trips is to use the bus regularly on 20 mile commutes in the time between those trips - 20 miles is far enough to bring on most faults.

My bus has broken down several times in daily commutes, needed professional roadside help twice, but it has only been towed home once in 50000 miles since June 2010 when we bought it:

This is a T1 engine problem : A spring snapped and a rocker arm slid sideways and the collateral damage from backfiring blew out inlet manifold boots. Even then back home I discovered using duct tape over the holes and a hose screw clamp on the rocker arm actually got the engine running again, before I properly repaired it, so I could have limped it along.
