I highly doubt it. It is on private land 5 miles back in the Bush with only atv trails to the area. I know the owner personally. And was given the bus a month ago. _________________ 1972 VW Westy (Hit by dumptruck)

Heading up on Sunday. Plan is front nose with bumper, 2 front doors
side cargo doors with B Posts, Possibly rear hatch. Anything else to grab/cut out? Probably last time up there. _________________ 1972 VW Westy (Hit by dumptruck)

To those interested, My buddy and I headed up 2 hours north with an ATV and a trailer that was way too small for what we needed. it was a beautiful Autumn day about 20C or 70F. After finding the trail we trailed in about 45 minutes and almost lost the generator and sawzall when the trailer overturned in a puddle.. Well after we secured everything we found the 1959 Panelvan sitting where she has for over 52 years.
It was at this point we found we had a flat on the ATV(The trail was terrible). We decided to cut up the bus while we had everything there. it took only 30 minutes to secure the 2 front doors, the 2 side doors, the rear hatch and the sought after front nose clip with intack bumper.
The bus had absolutely no interior including tranny, engine, pedals, steering column, shifter, axles or even motor doghouse. This was all removed 50 something years ago to make it a cabin. I looked for anything salvageable but it was being eaten by the ground. There was no floor inside even.
We secured the front clip and started the long trail back to the road. Not 5 minutes into it we blew the trailer tire. So now with 2 flats we had to rethink things. It was decided to store the parts at the hunting lodge we barely made it to and retrieve the parts in the winter when we could sled them out using snow machines. It turned out to be a 9 hour day with no beer (lost in a small pond of a puddle) and very little to eat. This turned out to be an adventurous day and the bus still lives in the bush. Hopefully we can get the parts out this winter. _________________ 1972 VW Westy (Hit by dumptruck)

epic adventure- glad to see you made it out more or less in one piece. Good to see that the bus (or parts of it) will live again. It was only on the road for the better part of 6 years? |

Parts are now at home, I will be selling them except for the front nose and bumper. They will be my wallhanger. _________________ 1972 VW Westy (Hit by dumptruck)
