Does anyone have a photo of the EPA label on the underside of the engine access door (opposite the license plate)? Anyone willing to take such a photo?
I'm doing some research.

dhaavers - was your Westy originally sold in California?
Does anybody know if only California cars had labels stating that they conform to EPA and California regulations? Is that what's referred to as a 50-state vehicle?
Were the labels that state EPA conformity only (and not California) for all other states?

I believe my van was originally sold in Arizona, but spent most of it's life in MN.
That's all I know...I'll let a guru get to your other questions.

Does anyone know if a 1985 Vanagon has a federal certification label?
I cannot get it approved at DMV since they could not find that label at the inspection |

Hi folks,
Forgive me for bringing up an old thread, but can someone guide me to where I can find this?
I have a ‘91 vanagon originally from Canada that I’m trying to sell. I have a buyer who’s interested in California, but needs to know if it has the decal first. I looked initially but couldn’t find it. I hope I’m not looking in the right place! Where is it lurking?

This is from the backside of the license on our ‘91 2.1L Canadian Westy (first registered in Victoria BC)
I could get a better photo with a real camera if you need to reproduce it - just let me know.
