Neat. I don't think I've seen this color tent before.
Looks like there are three tents. One in the 58 with a white band on the bottom, one on the FCG bus with a blue band on the bottom, and then this tent with the wide stripes. |

In discussions with Andre on this, we believe that there were two tents which got switched between the '58 and the '59 westies.
I have only seen the red/white/blue/white color scheme on one tent bag, never before on a tent.

For those interested, Red has his own site showcasing his photography:
http://www.redgrandy.com/
I looked thru many of the photos but didn't see any additional photos of the FCG Westy. There was one with a bus though:

How sweet would it have been to just drive over to the Westfalia Factory, saunter up to the counter and say "I'm bored with my old tent. What have you got that is fresh?" Or better yet, sit down with a designer in the showroom and sketch up some totally custom setup? _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

Totally awesome. Red checked all the boxes on the order form, and then some.
safaris
six popouts
ambulance fans
eberspacher
yellow/black/yellow paint (likely one-off paint scheme)
red interior paint (again, likely one-off)
stove cabinet in an SO-23 (only known example of this kit setup)
auxiliary battery (only known example?)
unique non-standard bed upholstery
and for the Icing on the cake:
cover car on Foreign Car Guide
original owner still around to answer questions and provide period photos
seriously, what more can you ask for? (other than the tent or low miles perfect condition)
I occasionally throw out the term "monster bus". This one is like "godzilla monster bus" _________________ .

Wow!, Red sure knows how to take a great photo! All of those are awesome, and your bus being the star makes it all that much better! _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I'll bet this thread is EXACTLY what Everett was hoping for when he first dove into hosting forums. Wish we could give him more of these. _________________

Dre-Check out the base of the rack leg. Does that look like it may be some sort of screw through there? Might explain the holes in the gutter, no? _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

Also confirms it had a sloper rack and not the early pre-58 rack (square tubing). _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Sheesh, in the black-and-white photo I finally see they are stroking the pussy cat. Are those the same two ladies that were stewardesses? |
