I plane to use the copper nickel line in my SC, I believe the SS will be very expensive, will use them for the hard line to wheel cyl. though. _________________ 73 Type 181

Braided brake line is more likely to fail sooner than solid copper nickel. Braided line has plastic hose inside to keep the brake fluid from leaking out. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Why not just use stainless hard line? I tell my local supplier how long what fittings and flare type, they make it while I wait. |

I recently replaced every piece of hard line on my ‘57 Panelvan. That long piece needs to be bent by hand as you feed it through from the front. Use regular steel or copper nickel brake line, you’ll wish you never used stainless once you get part way through installing it _________________ 1956 Dove Blue Panel

You can remove most of your old lines pretty much intact to use as patterns to bend the new lines fairly close to the original ones, but all will need to be formed to fit correctly as you install them.
That long one that runs front to back ends up getting destroyed while removing it, so it ends up useless to use as a pattern. As I already stated you must feed it in and bend it as you go. It’s a pain but not overly difficult, but again you’re going to be doing every bend by hand and having line that’s not overly stiff makes the work doable while laying on your back under your bus.
The first post in my thread on the ‘56 Panelvan shows a few pictures of the brake line work:https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=698322&highlight= _________________ 1956 Dove Blue Panel
