Shocked just had a brain fart--seems I've seen dollies with a pivot plate lock so you can back them up, but should be released for towing Rolling Eyes Laughing you might look around for a release??

Safe travels Stu and Mom Stu. Keep speeds down.

Use the cruise and put it at 5 mph below median speed and enjoy that right lane.

I'm absolutely amazed at how lucky you got Stu, somebody was definitely watching out for you.

Sorry to hear about Maisy, But, it's just a vehicle and can be replaced or re-built. The main thing is you got away unscathed. I've lost two friends two texting while driving, and they were in much safer cars than a Bus.

I look forward to the Re-Build of whatever Bus comes next.

Jeeze, Stu, That'll clip pretty easily. If you took the northern route I could have fixed you up with one.
I'd guess the old crash books said 20 hours or so to R & R nose panel.

How about a tweaked frame, bent beam, left rear corner, and C pillars forward?

Already begun the stripping process...

Headbanger went to secretsubmariner
Clock went to Bala! (Awesome to finally shake your hand Bala!)

And the rest of the big stuff is mostly spoken for.

NOT FIXING IT.

Wink

REALLY? Bent the frame? Wow, I wouldn't have guessed it. I forgot about the boogered left corner.
I'm just more of a fixer I guess. I regret the cars I cut up decades ago.
And I enjoy a challenge. But my 912 Targa is a pretty big challenge right now.
Non rusty cars are getting harder to find.
Plus, I guess you have the 80 Vanagon anyway. That's a nice Westy to travel in, got one myself.
Best,
Al

Are the front torsion springs spoken for? If not -- and if they're not broken/shot -- I'm interested. Especially if you could make sure to mark them so they don't get put in with the wrong twist direction...

Big thing the ones in Maisy have going for them (in my mind) is that we know what orientation they should be in. The used replacement set I tracked down & installed a while back weren't marked so I had to guess .. and I think I guessed wrong because it's nearly on the stops. Which is an improvement over "on the stops" where I was before with the worn OG torsions but...

This is why I don't trust it. Wink but I can see if Ken has the new beam I had asked him about and if so, see that he leaves the leaves (Laughing) in them
