I skimmed through the last couple of pages looking for caravan meet locations but not seeing anything firm.
- Is there anyone coming from or through Denver Friday morning that wants to caravan down?
- The people meeting in the Springs area, when and where are you meeting and mind of we tag along?

Looks like we are looking at a high of 70* and a low of 45* Saturday and Sunday with rain most likely after noon each day.
Hope Camit34 can hook up with the group from CS on Friday morning.

Family road trip day 33 rolls into Mesa Verde tomorrow (2nd) just for one night. Sad to be missing the party. Are any VW chums planning to be there early?

Monday the 7th is my birthday, and I'll be spending it driving back to Kansas!
So, in the spirit of grade school birthday treats, I'm planning to make my favorite cake, Devil's Food with white vanilla frosting, in my Dutch oven to share til it runs out. And I'm quite afraid there won't be enough for everyone, unfortunately.
So even though there won't be a potluck or anything, I thought it would be fun to "challenge" whoever wants to participate to bring some kind of dessert to share with the rest and make a Saturday night dessert potluck of sorts. Double extra points if the item is cooked/prepared at the camping spot as I plan to do.

Sstoosh, I will most likely be the first one to camp on Friday morning around 10ish. I'll keep an eye out for you tomorrow at MV, I'll be there around 2ish. I'll be the guy waiving in the big brown truck.

Well, I am out! the bug is running great, new beam cut and turned, bearing packed and bam! Wife intervention. I now have a family deal on Sunday.
I will be thinking of you. Hopefully next time. |

No worries warejn, I missed last years event due to a family function. Crappy for sure, but that family life.
Hope all the people that are already on the road are have a successful trip so far.

Since it's been so wet it's probably a good idea for everyone to bring a little firewood. The area we'll be in is heavily used and what little firewood that might be laying around will be drenched. I'll have some, I bet a good 10 pieces or so, but that won't be enough for the whole weekend. Temps will be low and I'm sure we'll all be spending time around a campfire.

I've been so busy camping that I haven't been watching this thread! I'd like to join yous. I was going to caravan with a couple friends, but they had to bow out with good excuses. So since I'm flying solo I'm coming in the vanagon instead of the splitty.

It looks like okartguy's bus is dead in the water so I'll probably be leaving with greenmtnjakes Friday morning. Where would you like to meet us?
Anyone else in the Denver area is welcome to caravan down as well.

No idea so far. They were headed out of town and poof, like you turned the key off. He says the motor turns over but slowly, and doesn't even try to start. They got towed back home and are on the couch trying to figure out a plan B.

We are on the east side of town in south east aurora and can meet just about anywhere.
The directions I have from google maps is heading out 285, are you going that way? If so, there's a Home Depot at the 285 / 470 interchange.
But if you're coming down 25 then there's a Home Depot at 25 / Arapahoe RD.
And what ever time is fine.
Anyone else in or around Denver want to meet up?
