1954 RHD BD Kombi Restoration

Hi ,

Ive received the decklid prop recently bought from Samba. Good quality repro i would say. But the one on the right is the original one came with the bus and the left is the new repro. Which is the correct one for 1954 BD Kombi? Can someone advice ....

Left side - the thinner one.

The other one is a dealer replacement latch that is more sturdy

Ahhhh my old bus.we shared a lot of sweat and tears. Good luck with the resto. Shouldn't be too hard to make into your show winner can't believe you are taking the headlining out tho. Will post some old pics up

HI Grant,

Nice to hear from you. What a pleasant surprise. trying to restore it back to original condition(as much as possible). Is the headliner original to the bus of have been changed at some point of time? I need to admit that the bus only need a full body spray , the rest is not much of a hard work all has been well done during previous restoration works.

Full Body Crushed Glass Blasting works completed(excluding roof top) , followed by all required "Hot Works", now at the stage of Filler Works. To upload Photos soon
