Did you stagger the welds on the "A" pillars when you welded them together?
Yes, the referred method of Stitch Welding. Bare with me, I'm a Noobie!
Did you weld the inner structural sheet metal inside the "A" pillar, or just the outer skins?
Currently only have them tacked on the outer most sections that were accessible from the nose leaning in.
Asking because you want those two pillars to be as strong as possible.

Any answers to the above? |
Completely agree on the structural integrity, aside from the three pillars, a couple doglegs, and a steering column, there sure isn't much meat for a potential collision. _________________ The Bus Barn Ltd. Co.

Come on.. Let us be honest. If we get in a head on in any bus, this is how the fire department will get what's left of us out.

They are actually very clean, full functioning on Jason's Scab here in Little Rock he has decided to sell.

Holy smokes! Out of probably 100+ rope-in window jobs I've done, the rear glass in the single was one of the toughest.
Big shoutout to my girl for being a huge helping hand working inside the cab lipping the seal over, while I attempted to herniate every joint and muscle in my body applying pressure to the glass. That was a chore!
Post-job success, in the dark, two+ hours later.
Thank you babe, you're the best!

Nice work! I didn't realize they were such a PITA. I think the last time I did a single cab rear window was at least a decade ago, maybe longer. I don't recall having that issue, so maybe the rubber shape/size is different these days. _________________ nothing |

The early alarm this morning, dragging ass n all, only meant I had time this afternoon to mess with the single. So what better thing to do on a wintry cold day by wet sanding the nose mostly free of the red oxide primer and the molasses-thick blue paint that was a far off respray.
Also removed the tractor-tow bar up front. With the new opened space, I thought I'd see a "little light" by temping up the emblem.
There's still some paint needing to be removed by I tired out.
Also took some time to weld in the final pillar. Tacked inside sections across the windshield framing too. Still lacking grinding seams, but I want to buy a dremel first.
I've been thinking, I don't really want to repaint the truck yet I am doing fresh sheet metal in various areas, and i will soon find myself with just random patch sections of bare and green metal. Tips or tricks for blending things together? This OG paint is far from what I'd land of a new can of Dove Blue, entertaining thoughts and suggestions.

For the best results blending you will want to have a piece from your bus color matched. You can get matched rattle cans or real 2k paint. Prep and paint the repair like you would a real paint job. Don't use hard tape edges, you want to feather the blend. If you tape something do it on a seam or "roll" the tape back over itself to avoid making a hard edge. Then when you have the newly painted area leveled and wet-sanded, fine scotch brite pads work well to take the shine off the new paint and fine tune the blend.
You can probably skip the buffing stage or just do a light buff. If done right, the wet sanding process will make your new paint shine more than the original paint and you will have to knock the shine down afterwards anyway. _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

Have yet to see a gas bottle in the LH rear corner. Gas heaters would be slightly inboard of the corner. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

in germany it is illegal to run out of gas on the autobahn... we always had a 5 liter can of gas in the car, any car, along with the warning triangle and first aid kit required for all cars.
i did, however, usually carry my gas can inside the bus _________________ regards

Gotcha. Gas bottle/can for fuel. Makes sense with a 10 gallon tank with no fuel gauge. Learn something everyday. |
I can't imagine a spare gas can/bottle was ever legal to carry in the engine compartment. I think it was just an open space to keep the rear symmetrical. |

But it isn't. We know there's a battery on one side,
In MASS, you can get a $50-100 ticket for " inadequate fuel" on the Pike _________________ .ssS! |

Why not, your entire ten gallon fuel tank is in there. _________________ nothing |
